We firmly believe that a healthy body leads to a healthy mind. And therefore, at Little Einstein’s Academy, we provide a balanced diet for the children that significantly indoctrinate healthy eating habits. We understand the important role we play in meeting the nutritional needs of children while in our care.
Children attending a full day of long day care are offered at least 50% of their recommended daily dietary intake in the centre itself.
Mealtimes gives children the opportunities to develop self-help skills. The staff members sit with children at meal times to offer support and encouragement to children that enable them to acquire self-help skills in feeding, serving, pouring etc.
We have teamed up with Kids Gourmet food to provide us with ready cooked lunch meals for our little ones. KGF cook and provide fresh, nutritious, homestyle meals for children in childcare every day. They have qualified chefs who will prepare the best quality meals for our centre. They use high-quality, fresh ingredients and a broad range of flavours and textures to create meals that meet – and often exceed – the latest nutritional guidelines for children in care.
They work with nutritionists and dieticians and consult with national advisory groups to ensure the highest nutritional standards. There is a six-week rotational menu, where your children’s meals contain food from the five food groups recommended by the Australian Dietary Guidelines. At Little Einstein’s Academy we serve breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack.
Our daily menu is displayed at centre.
We are extremely considerate of food allergies, religious needs and special dietary requirements to personalise meals for each child.
Whilst children are always encouraged to eat, no child is forced to eat against their own will. Children’s choice of food is respected.
